Apple Watch repair keeps coming back — what am I missing?

Tyler N.ScreenSavers PDX2 answers

Hey everyone, I'm having a tough time with Apple Watch repairs. I've had a few customers come back complaining that the screens I've replaced have failed again within weeks. I'm following the typical disassembly process and using parts from a reliable vendor, but I can't shake the feeling that I must be missing something crucial in my QC steps. Could it be the adhesive I'm using? Should I be using a different method for sealing? Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

I've dealt with similar issues, and the biggest culprit for me has been the adhesive. Make sure you're using a high-quality adhesive that's specifically designed for Apple Watch screens. I found that using a UV-cure adhesive instead of the standard double-sided tape gives a much more robust seal. Also, ensure that you're cleaning both surfaces properly before applying the adhesive. You might want to check if your vendor can provide samples of different adhesives to test out before committing to a bulk order. It’s made a world of difference for my repairs!

It's easy to overlook the environment in which you're doing these repairs. Make sure your workspace is dust-free and that you're working in a controlled environment to avoid any particles getting under the screen. Additionally, I use an ultrasonic cleaner to ensure the components are spotless before reassembly. It adds a bit of time to the process but has drastically reduced my repeat failures. Also, consider using a software tool for tracking your repairs and customer feedback; it can help identify patterns in returns.
