mini PC repair keeps coming back — what am I missing?
Hey fellow shop owners, I'm having a tough time with a mini PC repair that keeps coming back. I first got this unit in for overheating issues, so I replaced the thermal paste and cleaned out the fans. A few weeks later, the customer returned saying it was crashing again. I ran some diagnostics and found no hardware issues, so I reinstalled the OS, thinking it might be a software conflict. But now, just a month later, they're back saying it's slow and freezing. I'm at a loss here! Has anyone dealt with similar issues? What could I be missing?

It sounds like you've done a lot of the right troubleshooting steps, but have you checked the power supply? Mini PCs can be quite sensitive to power fluctuations, and a failing power supply can cause intermittent issues. I recommend getting a reliable PSU tester to rule this out. If it’s not the power supply, consider checking the RAM as well; sometimes, reseating or swapping it out can resolve random freeze issues. Sometimes, manufacturers release updates that can fix stability issues. Also, consider using a different brand of thermal paste; I've had better results with some brands over others.
