What's working for Google reviews in 2025 for small cell shops?

We ask at pickup and have a QR at the counter but conversion is maybe 1 in 8. Competitors with worse work have more reviews. What actually moved the needle for you without feeling spammy?

Timing matters more than the QR — we ask right after a successful repair demo on the bench, not at the register when they're rushing out. Follow-up text 2 hours later with a direct link doubled our rate.
