Lenovo ThinkPad repair keeps coming back — what am I missing?
I've had a Lenovo ThinkPad come back to my shop three times now, and I'm starting to feel like I'm missing something crucial in the repair process. The first time, it was a power issue, and I replaced the charging port. The second time, it was a faulty battery, and I went ahead and swapped that out too. But now, the customer is reporting that the laptop is overheating and shutting down unexpectedly. I'm wondering if there's a deeper issue, maybe with the motherboard or cooling system. It sounds like you've already tackled a couple of common issues with those ThinkPads. Given the overheating problem, I'd recommend checking the thermal paste on the CPU and GPU. Sometimes, if it's dried out or improperly applied, it can lead to overheating. It's also worth inspecting the cooling fan to ensure it's functioning properly and not clogged with dust.
