Surface Laptop repair keeps coming back — what am I missing?
I've been having a frustrating time with Surface Laptop repairs lately. We keep getting customers coming back with the same issues after we think we've resolved them. Last week, we replaced a faulty SSD on one unit, and a few days later, they reported more freezing and performance issues. This isn't the first time we've seen this either. I've checked the thermal paste and the battery, but the problem persists. Is there something I'm overlooking in these repairs? Any insights would be appreciated!

It sounds like you're running into a common problem with Surface devices. One thing I've found crucial is to ensure the BIOS is updated before making any repairs. Sometimes, they can have underlying firmware issues that won't be resolved by typical hardware replacements. I also recommend running a full diagnostic with software like HWiNFO after repairs to catch any anomalies. If the BIOS update doesn't help, you might want to consider checking for issues with the motherboard, as that can often be the root cause of recurring problems.
I feel your pain. Surface laptops can be tricky! One thing I've seen work is to do a clean installation of Windows after any significant hardware change, like the SSD. This can help eliminate software conflicts that might be causing the issues. I usually get my parts from iFixit or OWC, and their guides can be very handy. Make sure you're also running the latest Surface drivers; they can sometimes resolve odd issues after hardware repairs.
