Samsung fingerprint sensor after screen replacement?

Ryan O.Irish Tech Fix2 answers

I recently replaced the screen on a Samsung Galaxy S10, but now the fingerprint sensor isn't working. I've followed all the steps, but I can't seem to get it to recognize fingerprints anymore. I've re-calibrated the sensor and checked the connections, but I'm still having issues. Has anyone experienced this before? What did you do to fix it?

I've had a similar issue with Samsung devices after a screen replacement. What works for me is using a good-quality adhesive when applying the new screen. Sometimes, if the adhesive isn't right, it can cause the fingerprint sensor to malfunction. Make sure to use OEM or high-quality third-party parts. Additionally, after the screen replacement, I always run a sensor calibration through the Samsung service menu if possible. It can help reset the sensor and get it back to recognizing fingerprints. If you haven't tried that yet, I'd recommend giving it a shot.

When I encounter this issue, I usually try to replace the fingerprint lens along with the screen. Sometimes, the lens can get scratched or damaged during the replacement process. You can usually find replacement lenses for a decent price from vendors like iFixit or Witrigs. Also, be cautious about the pressure you apply when installing the new screen, as it can affect the sensor's performance. If all else fails, a factory reset might help, but ensure all data is backed up beforehand.
